Réunion de l’Union Internationale des Supérieures Générale à Rome en mai 2025

Meeting of the International Union of Superiors General in Rome in May 2025

950 major superiors came to Rome from all over the world between 5 and 9 May 2025 for the General Assembly of the International Union of Superiors General (UISG).

Among the organisations presenting their activities (support for migrants, support for South Sudan, support for abused people, etc.), the International Missionary Benefit Society stood out for the services offered to the sisters themselves, as required by canon law.

The stand run by Sylvain Sacheli was very well attended. The subject of health is one to which the Superiors General are very sensitive. Sylvain Sacheli met many Superiors: those who were very satisfied, whose sisters were already registered with the IMS, and others who were surprised and interested to discover the services offered by the IMS.

Once again, we were struck by the multiplicity of health situations and, above all, the unmet health needs.

As a result, many of those in charge learned about the universality of the IMS’s offer, which is not limited to just a few countries.

Specific features such as the continuity of aid in the event of long-term illness or the admission of members with pre-existing conditions have attracted other superiors.
