A solidarity of service in a Synodal Church
06/08/2025
When Pope Francis[May He Rest in Peace], invited the universal church for a synodal moment, to journey together as a synodal church, many indeed did not understand in depth what he was inviting us to. The truth is we require each other and thus the synodal spirit, moving forward in solidarity. This is exactly what IMS has been doing since its creation and foundation back in 1965.
As we mark the 60th anniversary, the East Africa Section celebrates and prides itself in this milestone of solidarity. Built on mutual and solidarity system IMS is a game charger in ensuring health for all men and Women serving in the church. Following the spirit of canon Law and Vatican II council, it is an enabler for all missionaries, men and women religious, diocesan priests and Bishops across the world to benefit from an equal right to health care. No one plans to get sick or hurt, all of us need medical care at some point, infact a Health Religious Man , Woman or Priest is a Health Church.
IMS has supported the health and well being of individuals, religious men, women and Priests, it gives courage that improves access to care, supports positive health outcomes of those concerned, it also encourages the sense of individual own health, but at most the assurance that my health is the priority.
