Meeting of the IMS Groups in Cameroon in January 2026
05/05/2026
The recent meeting of the IMS Groups in Cameroon on 24 January 2026 provided an opportunity to discuss two key pillars of our mutual solidarity: the use of sworn statements and access to the Social Fund.
“Simplifying to provide better support”
The extranet
At the start of our meeting, the floor was opened to the groups to express their views on the use of the new system (Extranet). These discussions highlighted a shared desire to streamline administrative procedures whilst ensuring the rigour necessary for the long-term viability of our system.
The sworn statement
Consequently, in light of the numerous instances where no documentation was provided, the use of the sworn statement was reaffirmed as a key tool for simplification, driven by trust. In a world where official supporting documents can sometimes be delayed or difficult to obtain depending on local circumstances, this document enables the MSH Service Provider to obtain the necessary information to complete their work and grant the aid requested by the groups as quickly as possible. Participants were able to share standard templates and discuss specific cases where this document effectively replaces the usual supporting documents, thereby improving the smooth flow of our communications.
The Social Fund
In the same vein, the use of the Social Fund was explained once again and presented as a means of strengthening solidarity and providing a genuine safety net for communities facing exceptional circumstances. This provided us with an opportunity to reiterate to all the groups the essential requirements for accessing the Social Fund. Consequently, particular emphasis was placed on monitoring the aid granted, so that each group could understand the real impact of this shared resource.
Dialogue and camaraderie
This meeting demonstrated once again that the IMS Groups are not merely administrative bodies, but spaces for lively dialogue. By making better use of sworn statements and clarifying the procedures for the Social Fund and other matters, we are strengthening our collective ability to serve communities effectively and with kindness.
