IMS is expanding with a branch in the Democratic Republic of the Congo
09/10/2024

International Missionary Benefit Society is strengthening its presence in Africa with the opening of a new branch in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which began operations on 1 July 2024.

Communication channels are becoming increasingly effective. For example, they now make it easy to find information about approved hospitals via the administrator’s ‘extranet’ portal. It is also possible to send healthcare invoices to the management centre via a computer without requiring a high-speed internet connection, with payment by bank transfer following 10 days later. Meetings and requests for information or assistance can take place via WhatsApp or video conference.

By opening this office in Kinshasa, the IMS has two objectives:

  • to provide a local service to member IMS groups,
  • to contribute to the healthcare mission by offering services to the canonical authorities who are discovering the EMI.

The Sisters of the Holy Family of Helmet now represent the IMS in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Sister Godelieve has been appointed by her Provincial, Sister Brigitte, to the post of Section Head; she is supported by Sister Nathalie. Their office in Kinshasa is open to all, available to provide any information regarding IMS health cover.
