In communion with Pope Francis and the universal Church
In 2015, to mark its 50th anniversary, International Missionary Benefit Society held its General Assembly in Rome.
Around sixty administrators, representatives of the Sections and member communities made a point of marking the event in the Holy City (speeches, round tables, GA), before attending the public audience in Saint Peter’s Square.
In front of thousands of faithful, Pope Francis addressed his message to the IMS as follows :
‘I especially greet the members of the IMS.
Dear friends, I warmly encourage your service to the Congregations and Dioceses to facilitate access to healthcare for their members and thus foster their dedication to the mission’.
Representing the IMS as President in 2015, Father Ménard accompanied by bishops and religious from the Association subsequently received the Pope’s blessing.
The Vatican remains committed to the IMS’s mission, its services and its solidarity with the health of religious men and women, priests and consecrated lay people around the world.
The members of the IMS, directors and employees, pray for Pope Francis.
