CONTRIBUTIONS & ASSISTANCE

The IMS

Contributions

In a spirit of solidarity, the IMS seeks people’s best protection according to the standard of living and the cost of healthcare in each country. That is why the IMS offers several contribution options, each providing a different level of assistance.

Request for assistance after receiving treatment

A beneficiary member of the IMS must contact the community to which they belong (Congregations, provinces, dioceses, autonomous houses, etc.) for everything connected to their assistance, requests for information or other details.

The assistance paid depends on the country of attachment and the option chosen.

Care network

The IMS has signed an agreement with hospitals and health centers in different countries.

In some approved hospitals (Abidjan, Hôpital Saint Joseph in Paris), the IMS practices third party payments and will pay the bill (except for the private room package). However, it is advisable to inquire beforehand, because a support must be requested from the Section.

The Social Fund

The groups of the International Missionary Benefit Society may request exceptional assistance to supplement in part the reimbursement of very high expenses, for example hospitalisation or important dental, auditory or optical healthcare, to assist medical repatriations and to assist fragile congregations with fulfilling their obligation to assist their members in serious and onerous cases.

Medical evacuation

The International Missionary Benefit Society has chosen the not-for-profit association MUTAS to offer a medical evacuation solution in the event of serious illness. This service is reserved for members of the international Options 1 and 2.

How to join

The International Missionary Benefit Society is open to any institute, diocese, association of faithful and other Christian religious communities “…protecting the health of their members”.

It offers the possibility for superiors and bishops to fulfil their canonical obligation, by protecting their members.
